I got to the beach to find Derek and Chris out and well powered up with 12m kites. I was goign to go kiting, but only had the 9m or 13m and it seemed too much for the 13m so decided to go windsurfing instead.

I went out on the 5.7m and my Hifly and was well-powered up right from the start. After a few runs I eaded off across the mouth of the estuary, over the Dovey Bar and on to Graveyards. It was horribly choppy over there with chop coming from all directions so I heaed back towards Ynyslas and then went on massive run all the way to the Lifeboat Station in Borth. On my way back up the beach to Ynyslas I managed to collide with half a tree, but luckily no damage was done. By the time I got back to the Golf Course Car Park I was exhausted as it was pretty rough and pretty hard work out there. Darren then went out with a 12m kite, but it looked as though the wind would fill in a little more so I stuck with the windsurfing.

I was soon back out on the water and sure enough, before long the wind was up to a steady 25 knots and I began to wish my 5m wasn't broken as the conditions were perfect for more forward loops... I did think about going for it on the kit I was on, but that board is just far too heavy and it didn't feel as though it would work very well with the doublr back straps. I did have some reall nice wave rides though with 3 or 4 good off the lips on each wave and some big vertical drops right on the edge of control... Pretty much a prefect session really, good winds, good waves and not too busy.
